Materra

The name Materra combines matter and terra, reflecting the lamp’s connection to material, earth and ceramic craft.
Materra is a table lamp composed of two glazed ceramic elements and a translucent acrylic diffuser. Its form is based on the simple geometry of an oblong shape, with softly rounded edges reminiscent of a running track. Produced using slip-cast ceramics, the lamp embraces the qualities of the process through its generous radii, smooth surfaces and subtle material variations.
The glossy glaze and carefully selected colours reference the familiar character of traditional ceramic baking dishes, reinterpreted as a contemporary lighting object. The translucent diffuser rests lightly on the ceramic base, creating a delicate overlap between solid and translucent elements.
